California State Assemblymember Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) was honored with the Leadership Award from Chabad of Rancho Mirage, The Torah Oasis, in recognition of his support for the Jewish community and efforts to address antisemitism in the Coachella Valley.

The award was presented during an event titled “Combating Hate with Courage,” which emphasized the need for unity against hate and violence.

“Estoy agradecido por este reconocimiento y orgulloso de estar hombro a hombro con nuestra comunidad judía,” said Gonzalez. “Enfrentar el odio no es solo un acto de valentía; es nuestra responsabilidad.”

Gonzalez also expressed appreciation for Chabad’s ongoing leadership and service in the region.

“Gracias a Chabad de Rancho Mirage, a la Federación Judía del Desierto y a todas las personas que trabajan todos los días para fortalecer y apoyar a la comunidad judía,” he concluded.
