Assemblymember Greg Wallis posted several messages on his Twitter account this week, addressing federal health policy, law enforcement appreciation, and environmental recognition within his district.
On January 9, Wallis highlighted recent Congressional action regarding health care tax credits. He wrote: “Congratulations to the House for passing a bipartisan extension of ACA tax credits yesterday. Now the Senate must act.
In California this week, four of my colleagues and I introduced AJR 24 urging Congress to reauthorize enhanced premium tax credits AND explore HSA contributions” (January 9, 2026). The Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) premium tax credits have played a significant role in making health insurance more affordable for many Americans. The proposed AJR 24 from California legislators calls for the continuation of these expanded subsidies and consideration of Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions.
The next day, Wallis recognized National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day by posting: “It’s National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Take a moment to honor the officers who protect and serve our communities.
Every day, they answer the call and step into danger to keep us safe.
To the men and women who wear the badge, thank you.” (January 10, 2026). This observance is held annually on January 9 across the United States to recognize law enforcement officers’ service and sacrifice.
On January 10, Wallis addressed environmental concerns related to his district’s deserts: “Deserts are more than scenery.
They are vital ecosystems—home to communities across the 47th Assembly District and iconic, endangered species like the desert tortoise.
Last year, my ACR 8 formally recognized World Desert Day, honoring the landscapes and communities that define” (January 10, 2026). Deserts in California are ecologically important areas supporting unique species such as the desert tortoise. Assemblymember Wallis previously introduced ACR 8 to formally acknowledge World Desert Day in recognition of these environments and their significance within his legislative district.
