Rep. Ken Calvert, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing California’s 41st District, used his social media platform in late February 2026 to address concerns about national security and the impact of Congressional funding disputes on federal law enforcement agencies.

On February 22, Calvert posted: “With cartel violence breaking out Mexico, an armed gunman storming Mar-a-Lago, & tensions rising in the Middle East, it’s outrageous that Democrats in Congress continue to block funding for @DHSgov, which means our @TSA, @CBP, @USCG & Secret Service agents are not getting paid.” The post highlighted recent international and domestic security incidents while criticizing Congressional Democrats for allegedly blocking Department of Homeland Security funding.

A few hours later on February 23, Calvert shared a brief message: “”.

Later that day, he addressed constituents directly regarding safety concerns related to violence in Mexico. On February 23 he wrote: “Americans in areas impacted by Mexican cartel violence should continue to adhere to U.S. State Department warnings and information. 41st District residents in Mexico can contact my office at (951) 277-0042 for assistance.”

Ken Calvert has served as the representative for California’s 41st District since 1993 and was born in Corona, California in 1953. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975 and continues to reside in Corona.
