Ken Calvert, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 41st District since 1993, shared his views on recent developments via social media on July 7, 2025.

In a post from that day, Calvert expressed concerns about California’s stance on a sports policy issue. He stated that “CA was told by the U.S. Dept. of Education that its policy allowing biological males to compete in girls’ sports was violating Title IX.” Calvert criticized the state for allegedly refusing to comply with federal law and maintaining what he described as an “unfair and unsafe policy.”

Later in the evening, Calvert turned his attention to fiscal matters. In another post, he highlighted legislative achievements related to tax savings: “Promises made, promises kept. Republicans have delivered tax savings for American workers, families, and seniors.” According to him, these changes will enable Americans to retain more of their income.

Further discussing regulatory issues, Calvert acknowledged efforts by Lee Zeldin from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He thanked Zeldin for reducing animal testing practices within the agency: “Thank you @EPALeeZeldin for cutting wasteful EPA animal tests and saving lab animals.” Calvert emphasized his collaboration with White Coat Waste Project in reviving a previous Trump administration policy aimed at finding alternatives to animal testing.

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and graduated from San Diego State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
