Rep. Ken Calvert, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing California’s 41st District since 1993, used his social media platform this week to criticize Congressional Democrats over federal funding issues and to praise former President Donald Trump for his role in Middle East diplomacy.

On November 6, 2025, Calvert addressed the ongoing debate over air traffic controller funding, stating: “The refusal by California Democrats in Congress to fund our air traffic controllers continues to negatively impact air travel. Those disruptions are set to increase as we get closer to the holidays. Democrats need to stop playing politics and vote to pay federal employees.”

A day later, on November 7, Calvert expressed support for former President Trump’s foreign policy achievements: “Thank you, President Trump! The Abraham Accords are a pathway to peace and prosperity for the entire Middle East and beyond.”

Later that same day, Calvert commented on the effects of a government shutdown, writing: “As this headline makes clear, this is a Democrat shutdown. If you’re on a flight that’s cancelled today or in a family where someone isn’t being paid, you should know that Republicans voted to keep the government open. Democrats think it’s good politics to keep it shutdown,”

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and continues to reside there at age 69. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975.
