Rep. Ken Calvert, who has represented California’s 41st District in the U.S. Congress since 1993, recently shared a series of updates regarding his legislative activities and policy priorities. Calvert, currently serving as Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, addressed issues ranging from national security to tax relief measures for American families.

On July 14, 2025, Calvert highlighted the importance of national defense in a post stating, “As the Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I believe there’s nothing more important than keeping America safe. This week, the House of Representatives will consider the FY26 Defense Appropriations Bill which provides the resources necessary to secure our country.”

Later that day, Calvert commented on new tax policies aimed at supporting working-class Americans. He wrote on July 14, 2025: “Our new and expanded tax benefits – no tax on tips, no tax on OT, $2,200 child tax credit, and quadrupling the SALT deduction – are all focused on delivering on our promised tax relief for working-class American families.”

In another update posted on July 14, 2025, Calvert referenced his testimony before a key House committee: “I testified before the House Rules Committee earlier today about the FY26 Defense Appropriations Bill and the need to make strategic investments to defend and protect the American people.”

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and continues to reside there. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
