Rep. Ken Calvert, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing California’s 41st District since 1993, recently addressed several topics on his official social media account, ranging from local government spending to tributes for fallen service members and personal office news.

On August 25, 2025, Calvert criticized the cost of an upcoming election in California’s Inland Empire region. He wrote, “It is going to cost taxpayers $40 million in the Inland Empire alone to hold a November special election on Gov. Newsom’s power grab. This is a massive waste of resources that could be better spent on transportation, housing, or education.”

Later that same day, Calvert shared news about the passing of his office dog. In a post dated August 25, he stated, “I’m saddened to share Team Calvert’s beloved office dog, Cali, has passed away.  Since 2008, Cali has been a constant presence in our Capitol Hill office, always showing up for work with a paw-sitive attitude. Cali has greeted countless constituents visiting D.C., top military”.

On August 26, Calvert marked the anniversary of the Abbey Gate attack during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan: “Four years ago today we lost 13 American heroes at Abbey Gate in Afghanistan. Like all of our killed and wounded service members, we will never forget their heroism and service to our country. The Inland Empire laid an especially heavy sacrifice upon the alter of freedom that”.

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and continues to reside there at age 69. He earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in 1975.
