Rep. Ken Calvert, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing California’s 41st District, reiterated his positions on federal funding for the California high-speed rail project and military support in a series of posts on April 6, 2026.

In one post, Calvert stated, “For more than a decade I’ve lead the fight with my Appropriations Committee colleagues to cut off federal funding for the California high-speed rail project to protect taxpayers from this disaster. It’s been clear for years that this project doesn’t deserve another dime.” (April 6, 2026). The California high-speed rail project has faced criticism over cost overruns and delays since its inception.

Later that day, Calvert posted “” (April 6, 2026), expressing patriotic sentiment without additional commentary.

In another post referencing his role as Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, Calvert wrote: “As Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I work with our military leaders every day to provide the resources to not only defeat our enemies on the battlefield, but to achieve our military objectives in ways that best ensure the safe return of our American troops.” (April 6, 2026).

Ken Calvert has served in Congress since 1993 and currently resides in Corona, California. Born in Corona in 1953 and a graduate of San Diego State University with a BA earned in 1975, Calvert has maintained a longstanding presence in both state and national politics.
