Rep. Ken Calvert, a long-serving member of Congress representing California’s 41st District since 1993, has recently addressed issues ranging from fraud in government programs to U.S. military operations abroad in a series of social media posts.

On January 2, 2026, Calvert raised concerns about government program oversight by stating, “Somali daycare fraud is just the tip of the iceberg. The GAO found massive fraud with Obamacare Premium Tax Credits. In one case, a single Social Security number was used for subsidized insurance coverage for over 125 insurance policies! Congress must protect taxpayers and stop”.

The following day, on January 3, 2026, he commented on recent developments in foreign policy and military action: “Here is my statement on the U.S. military operation in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of Nicolás Maduro: https://t.co/GSairE82ZB”.

Later that same day, Calvert highlighted his role as Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee: “As Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I work with my colleagues to provide the resources, oversight, & coordination with our nat sec leaders to ensure when our military carries out a mission, they have everything they need to achieve the objective & return https://t.co/eLIoPJZAit”.

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and continues to reside there. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University in 1975.
