Rep. Ken Calvert, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing California’s 41st District since 1993, shared updates on social media this week regarding local news, international developments, and corporate transparency.
On January 26, Calvert congratulated a new media outlet in the state, posting: “It’s great to have a fresh source of news in California! Congratulations @CaliforniaPost on your launch today!”
The following day, he commented on recent events related to the conflict in Gaza: “With the recovery of Ran Gvili, a 24-year-old Israeli soldier who was killed on October 7th, there are no longer any hostages remaining in Gaza. While my office took down this poster today, the hostages taken and Israelis killed on October 7th will never be forgotten.” This statement reflects ongoing attention to developments following the October 7th attacks and their aftermath.
Later that same day, Calvert drew attention to corporate practices within California’s healthcare sector. He wrote: “This is a must watch video in which the CEO of Blue Shield of CA says they contributed half a million dollars to a ballot measure committee but had no idea how the money would be used.”
Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and continues to reside there. He graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in 1975.
