On Friday, Jan. 31, former Indio High School standout Richie Amavizca’s current college team, the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys, lost 10-4 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm.

The game took place at Feland Field (Cypert Athletic Complex). This was their first matchup against the Crimson Storm this season.

The Cowboys’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. at Feland Field (Cypert Athletic Complex) against Newman Jets.
