City Of Indio issued the following announcement on Dec. 18.
The Human Resources Director, appointed by and reporting to the City Manager, works closely with the Deputy City Manager and serves as an integral member of the City’s executive team. In combination with overseeing the Human Resources Department, the Director serves in a working position that is personally responsible for leading, facilitating and implementing all aspects of employee relations, labor relations, and employee appreciation. It is desirable that applicants have experience in local government, working with an in-house Police Department, conducting contract negotiations, and applying best practices for managing risk and liability.The Director must be a people person, communicative, value professional management, empower staff, and understand modern employment practices.
In her/his first year, the new Human Resources Director will be expected to initiate proactive employee appreciation programs, implement a recently completed Classification and Compensation Study, and initialize the newly implemented personnel modules of a Tyler ERP system.
