City of Palm Desert issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.
California’s beloved citrus trees are being threatened by the deadly plant disease, Huanglongbing (HLB). To fight HLB, thousands of tiny beneficial insects called Tamarixia radiata are being released in neighborhoods across California to reduce populations of the Asian citrus psyllid, the pest that carries the disease.
